January 9 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's consumer prices decreased by 0.2% year-on-year in December, after falling at the same rate in the previous month, the state statistical office said on Monday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 40.9% in the consumer basket, fell 1.6% on the year last month, after a 1.5% decline in November.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the second largest weight of 13.8% in the consumer basket, edged down 0.5% on the year in December, after dropping at the same pace in the previous month.
Prices in the transport segment, which have 7.9% weight in the consumer basket, fell 0.5% after adding 0.7% in November.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices fell 0.1% in December following a 0.2% decrease in November.
