SKOPJE (Macedonia), February 4 (SeeNews) – Macedonia's government said it has invested 5.6 million euro ($7.6 million) in new medical equipment for the Bitola Clinical Centre that is expected to become soon a regional medical hub.
The modernisation is part of a government investment programme worth some 70 million euro for providing medical equipment for Macedonian hospitals, the cabinet said in a statement on its website on Thursday.
This is the first major investment in the country’s health sector in the last 15-20 years, Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski was quoted as saying in the statement.
The clinical centre in Bitola, in southwestern Macedonia, serves some 100,000 patients.
