September 17 (SeeNews) - The number of unemployed in Macedonia in August rose by 12.7% on the year to 361,840, the government's Employment Service Agency said on Monday.
In August the jobless numbered 1.4% less than in July, whereas the newly-employed increased by 29.4% to 118,076.

The Employment Service Agency does not release unemployment rate figures. These are issued quarterly by the country's State Statistics Office.
Macedonia had a labour force of 902,588 in the first quarter of 2007, according to the latest data available.
