January 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's competition authority said that it gave the green light to motor vehicle trader M Trucks Bulgaria to acquire 100% interest in Star Motors, official importer of Mazda automobiles in Bulgaria and North Macedonia.
The notified deal will not affect the competition environment as the two parties to the deal are operating on unrelated market segments, the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said in its decision published on Friday.

By acquiring Star Motors, M Trucks Bulgaria will expand its portfolio by entering the market for trade in Mazda cars, the CPC said.
Interested parties can challenge the regulator's decision before Sofia Region Administrative Court by January 28.
In November 2021, Bulgarian automotive holding company Avto Union [BUL:8AVB], part of financial and energy group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG], said that it signed a preliminary contract for the sale of its subsidiary Star Motors to M Trucks Bulgaria, a company with extensive experience in the sale and maintenance of motor vehicles and official importer of MAN trucks in Bulgaria.
Star Motors, founded in 2000, has its own and pre-authorised sales and service centers in nine cities in Bulgaria and a car dealership with a service center in North Macedonia's Skopje.
