LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), June 28 (SeeNews) – Slovenian home appliances maker Gorenje [LJE:GRVG] said on Wednesday the Ljubljana District State Prosecutor's Office has dismissed criminal reports filed by the Securities Market Agency (ATVP) against the company and its CEO in relation to the due diligence carried out at Gorenje last year by the Panasonic Corporation.
ATVP earlier filed the reports against Gorenje and CEO Franjo Bobinac for allegedly abusing insider information during the due diligence process, the appliances maker said in a Ljubljana bourse filing.
Gorenje said it had expected the court to dismiss the charges as it has fully observed the regulations and the law in conducting the procedures.
"We learned about the criminal report in September 2016 from the media. We commissioned two legal experts' opinions with regard to the allegations pertaining to the criminal report," the company noted. "Both opinions found that the conduct of the Gorenje president and CEO and the company Gorenje was lawful and legal, which was also confirmed by the State Prosecutor's Office upon the conclusion of their investigation."
ATVP said last year that Bobinac had informed Slovenia's prime minister of events related to the due diligence, before the information was publicly announced. The agency alleged he thus abused insider information.
