August 31 (SeeNews) - The benchmark index of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE), SBITOP, closed down on Wednesday amid higher turnover.
SBITOP, which tracks the most liquid and highly capitalised stocks on the LJSE, dropped 2.06% to 720.45 after ticking up 0.14% on Tuesday.
Five of the seven blue chips ended lower on Wednesday and two closed up.
The bourse's total daily turnover jumped to 2.6 million euro ($2.9 million) from 1.48 million euro on Tuesday.
Port operator Luka Koper [LJE:LKPG] was the top blue chip gainer on Wednesday, adding 1.99% to a close of 23.05 euro.
Insurer Sava Re [LJE:POSR] was the biggest blue chip decliner, shedding 4.67% to a close of 14.30 euro.
Drug maker Krka [LJE:KRKG] was the most traded company generating a turnover of 970,080 euro. It closed 3.33% down on Wednesday.
