LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), November 15 (SeeNews) – Passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport has increased 9.3% year-on-year to 1,585,798 in the first 10 months of 2018, Germany’s Fraport Group, which operates the airport in Slovenia's capital, said.
Aircraft takeoffs and landings at Ljubljana airport rose 4.2% on the year to 30,572 in January-October, while cargo traffic expanded 0.6% to 10,219 tonnes, Fraport said in a data release earlier this week.
In October alone, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport rose 5.1% to 161,446, aircraft movements edged down 0.9% to 3,290, while cargo transport decreased 18.7% to 1,178 tonnes.
In 2017, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport rose 19.8% year-on-year to 1,683,045.
In September 2014, Fraport signed a deal to acquire a stake of 75.5% in the company that operated Ljubljana airport and later increased its shareholding interest to 100%. Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, the German company also operates the airports in the Bulgarian cities of Varna and Burgas.
