LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), September 13 (SeeNews) – Passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport increased 3.7% year-on-year to 1,278,462 in the first eight months of 2019, Germany’s Fraport Group, which operates the airport in Slovenia's capital, said on Friday.
Aircraft takeoffs and landings at Ljubljana airport fell 2.3% on the year to 23,420 in the January-August period, while cargo traffic fell 5.4% to 7,586 tonnes, Fraport said in a data release.
In August alone, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport increased by 4.5% to 211,431, aircraft movements edged down 0.4% to 3,428, while cargo transport fell 7.3% to 849 tonnes.
In 2018, passenger numbers at Ljubljana airport rose 7.7% to 1,812,411.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, the German company also operates the airports in the Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas.
