September 15 (SeeNews) - Passenger traffic at Slovenia's Ljubljana airport increased to 831,984 in the first eight months of 2023, up 31.9% on the year, data by airport operator Fraport Group showed.
Aircraft takeoffs and landings at Ljubljana airport grew 4.3% on the year to 15,190 in the January-August period, while cargo traffic went down by 8.1% to 7,543 tonnes, according to figures published on the website of Germany's Fraport Group.
In August alone, Ljubljana airport serviced 146,399 passengers, aircraft movements totalled 2,467, while cargo transport amounted to 807 tonnes.
Passenger traffic at Slovenia's Ljubljana airport more than doubled to 970,152 in 2022 from 421,934 in the previous year.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, Fraport Group operates the airports in the Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas.
