September 15 (SeeNews) - Passenger traffic at Slovenia's Ljubljana airport decreased 15.3% year-on-year to 208,541 in the first eight months of 2021, data by airport operator Fraport Group showed.
Aircraft takeoffs and landings at Ljubljana airport went up 17.9% to 10,969 in the January-August period, while cargo traffic increased by 8.7% to 7,264 tonnes, according to figures published on the website of Germany's Fraport Group.
In August alone, Ljubljana airport serviced 73,056 passengers, aircraft movements totalled 2,192, while cargo transport amounted to 862 tonnes.
In 2020, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport fell 83.3% year-on-year to 288,235.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, Fraport Group operates the airports in the Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas.
