LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), January 15 (SeeNews) – Passenger numbers at Ljubljana airport fell 5.0% year-on-year to 1,721,355 in 2019, Germany’s Fraport Group, which operates the airport in Slovenia's capital, said on Wednesday.
Aircraft takeoffs and landings at Ljubljana airport decreased 11.3% on the year to 31,489 in the January-December period, while cargo traffic dropped 8.2% to 11,365 tonnes, Fraport said in a data release.
In December alone, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport shrank by 21.6% to 85,513, aircraft movements fell 27.1% to 1,776, while cargo transport dropped 2.5% to 1,030 tonnes.
In 2018, passenger numbers at Ljubljana airport rose 7.7% to 1,812,411.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, the German company also operates the airports in the Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas.
