LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), December 13 (SeeNews) – Passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport increased 8.3% year-on-year to 1,703,352 in the first 11 months of 2018, Germany’s Fraport Group, which operates the airport in Slovenia's capital, said on Thursday.
The number of aircraft takeoffs and landings at Ljubljana airport rose 3.4% on the year to 33,084 in January-November, while cargo traffic increased 1.1% to 11,324 tonnes, Fraport said in a data release.
In November alone, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport fell 3.3% to 117,554, aircraft movements decreased 6.3% to 2,512, while cargo transport increased 5.1% to 1,105 tonnes.
In 2017, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport rose 19.8% year-on-year to 1,683,045.
In September 2014, Fraport signed a deal to acquire a stake of 75.5% in the company that operated Ljubljana airport and later increased its shareholding interest to 100%. Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, the German company also operates the airports in the Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas.
