December 7 (SeeNews) - Discount retail chain Lidl, part of Germany’s Schwarz Group, doubled the capital of its Bosnian subsidiary, Lidl BH, to 98.8 million marka ($52.9 million/50.5 million euro), ahead of the expected opening of its first store in the country, Bosnian media reported.
Lidl BH is working on the construction of a facility in Bjeljina, news provider Bisnis Info reported on Tuesday.
Germany's WE-International Zweite established Lidl BH in 2021, according to Bosnia's registry of business entities. Sarajevo-based Lidl BH has two subsidiaries - one in Banja Luka and one in the Brcko district.
In Southeast Europe, Lidl is already present in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Romania.
