June 10 (SeeNews) - Discount chain Lidl Bulgaria, part of Germany's Lidl Stiftung & Co, said on Monday that it has opened two new stores in Sofia, increasing the total number of its stores in the country to 97.
The two stores spread on a total area of 1,500 sq. m. and 1,400 sq. m, respectively, the company said in a statement.
Earlier this year, Lidl said it is planning to increase the number of its stores in the country to at least 98 by the end of 2019.
Lidl entered the Bulgarian market in 2010 and currently operates stores in 47 cities in the country, employing over 2,800.
Lidl, part of Germany's Schwarz-Gruppe, is a global discount supermarket chain based in Neckarsulm, Germany and present in 30 countries.
