December 17 (SeeNews) - Discount chain Lidl Bulgaria, part of Germany's Lidl Stiftung & Co, said on Monday that it has opened its 93rd store in the country, in Sofia.
The new opening brings the number of Lidl stores in the capital to 25, the company said in a statement.
In June, Lidl Bulgaria said it plans to open five more stores by the end of the year in the cities of Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv, bringing its total stores in the country to 94. Since then, the company has opened two new stores in Sofia and one each in Varna and Plovdiv.
Lidl entered the Bulgarian market in 2010. Lidl Bulgaria operates stores in 46 cities, employing nearly 2,700 people.
Lidl, part of Germany's Schwarz-Gruppe is a global discount supermarket chain, based in Neckarsulm, Germany.
