(SeeNews) - Oct 14, 2011 - Brazilian utility EDP no Brasil (SAO:ENBR3) will install smart grids in the entire city of Aparecida, southeastern Sao Paulo state, distributing smart metres to all 35,000 inhabitants, local news energy site Jornal Energia reported yesterday.
The pilot project, worth some BRL 1 million (USD 571,086/EUR 413,941), will be officially launched on October 25 during the Metering Latin America conference.
The equipment to be used is a result of the research and development (R&D) partnership between EDP no Brasil itself and home IT firm Ecil Informatica.
