January 25 (SeeNews) - A landslide in Serbia's Kolubara coal mining basin on Tuesday afternoon caused no injuries but disrupted production, the government said on Wednesday.
However, coal supply to the local thermal power plant will not be impacted, the government said in a press release.
An excavator had to stop work after a track was partially buried in the landslide, energy minister Dubravka Djedovic was quoted as saying in the press release.
Coal production at the mine has fallen by 30% in the last two weeks, a trend that is expected to continue following the accident, he added.
The mining complex accounts for 70% of Serbia's lignite output, according to the EPS website.
