PRISTINA (Kosovo), August 24 (SeeNews) – Kosovo's trade deficit increased 18.3% year-on-year to 280.2 million euro ($323.8 million) in July, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Exports fell by 25% year-on-year to 28.7 million euro, while imports increased by 12.2% to 309.0 million euro in July, the statistical office said in a monthly economic report.
Kosovo's main export destinations in July were Albania, Macedonia, Serbia and Switzerland. Base metals, foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco, as well as plastic products were Kosovo's main export items.
Mineral products, machinery and foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in July. Most of the imports originated in Serbia, Germany and China.
