August 26 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 15.8% year-on-year to 426.1 million euro ($424.1 million) in July, the country's statistical office said.
Exports rose by 22.5% year-on-year to 76.2 million euro, while imports increased by 16.8% to 502.4 million euro in July, the statistical office said in a statement earlier this week.
Kosovo's main export destinations in July were the U.S., North Macedonia and Albania. Base metals, various manufactured articles and plastics and rubber products were Kosovo's main export items.
Mineral products, food products and base metals made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in July. Most of the imports originated in Turkey, China and Germany.
Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 38.3% year-on-year to 3.9 billion euro in 2021.
