September 26 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's trade deficit widened by 25.3% year-on-year to 441.9 million euro ($425.7 million) in August, the country's statistical office said.
Exports rose by 30.6% year-on-year to 84.8 million euro, while imports increased by 26.2% to 526.8 million euro in August, the statistical office said in a statement on Friday.
Kosovo's main export destinations in August were Albania, the U.S. and Serbia. Mineral products, base metals and various manufactured articles were Kosovo's main export items.
Mineral products, food and machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in August. Most of the imports originated in Turkey, China and Germany.
Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 38.3% year-on-year to 3.9 billion euro in 2021.
