PRISTINA (Kosovo), August 23 (SeeNews) – Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 5.3% year-on-year to 296.3 million euro ($328.4 million) in July, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Exports rose by 40.5% to 40.4 million euro in July, while imports increased by 8.6% to 336.8 million euro, the Agency of Statistics said in a monthly economic report.
Kosovo's main export destinations in July were India, Albania and North Macedonia. Base metals, food, beverages and tobacco, plastic products as well as vegetable products were Kosovo's main export items.
Mineral products, machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment and food, beverages and tobacco made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in July. Most of the imports originated in Germany, Turkey and China.
