PRISTINA (Kosovo), December 27 (SeeNews) – Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 12.7% year-on-year to 2.4 billion euro ($2.8 billion) in the first 11 months of 2017, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday, citing preliminary figures.
The statistical office provided no figures for Kosovo's exports and imports in the period January-November.
In November alone, Kosovo's trade deficit increased 11.5 % year-on-year to 230 million euro, the statistical office said in a monthly economic report.
Exports decreased 6.3% year-on-year to 30 million euro in November, whereas imports increased 11% to 260.7 million euro.
Kosovo's main export destinations in November were Albania, Serbia, Macedonia, and India. Base metals, mineral products, plastic products, as well as food, beverages and tobacco were Kosovo's main export items.
Mineral products, machinery, food, beverages and tobacco, base metals and transport means made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in November. Most of the imports originated from Serbia, Germany and Turkey.
