November 17 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's gross power production rose to 1,339.8 GWh in the third quarter of 2017, from 1,301.4 GWh in the prior-year period, the national statistical agency said on Friday.
Thermal power plants produced 1,316.8 GWh of electricity, while hydro power plants generated 23 GWh, the statistical agency said in a statement.
Kosovo imported 66.7 GWh of electricity in the July-September period, down from 141.8 GWh in the like period of 2016, whereas its exports fell to 194.4 GWh from 199.4 GWh.
Kosovo's power consumption increased 14.3% year-on-year to 958.8 GWh in the review period, with households having a share of 51.9% in total consumption.
Coal output decreased to 1.8 million tonnes, down from 2.3 million tonnes in the third quarter of 2016.
