May 26 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by a real 4% in 2015, accelerating from a 1.2% growth in 2014, preliminary statistics office data showed on Thursday.
Growth was also higher than the 3.5% estimate made by the country's central bank in January.
In the last quarter of 2015, Kosovo's annual GDP growth quickened to 5% from 4% in the previous quarter, mainly on the back of construction, which expanded by 25.6%, data from the statistics office indicated.
Gross capital formation grew 15.1% year-on-year in the fourth quarter, whereas final consumption of households widened 4.9%.
On the other hand, exports contracted by 8.7% on the year, and final consumption of the government narrowed by 2.1%.
Final data about Kosovo's economy growth in 2015 will be published in November 2016, the office said.
