September 29 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by a real 16.28% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2021, after increasing by 4.22% in the previous quarter, the statistical office said.
Measured at current prices, Kosovo's GDP totaled 1.96 billion euro ($2.3 billion) in the April-June period, the Kosovo Agency of Statistics said in a statement on Tuesday.
The sectors that most contributed to Kosovo's economic growth in the second quarter of 2021 were wholesale and retail trade, transportation, accommodation and food services and real estate activities, construction, financial and insurance activities, scientific, professional and technical activities and administrative and support services activities.
Kosovo's economy shrank 4.14% on the year in 2020, according to a preliminary estimate by the country's statistical office. Kosovo's GDP grew 4.17% year-on-year in 2019.
