December 5 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's Anti-Corruption Agency (AKK) has opened a procedure against MTS, the local unit of Serbia's state-owned Telekom Srbija, to assess the company's potential violation of the competition law, local media reported on Monday.
A preliminary analysis of the competition market showed that MTS, which operates in the internet and cable services markets in Kosovo, gained control over other companies in the relevant market without reporting it to the relevant authorities, news provider RTK Live reported.
Carrying out transactions and acquisitions without submitting the mandatory concentration notice in accordance with the law on protection of competition restricts or distorts competition inside or outside the country, the report reads.
MTS has been operating in Kosovo since 2015.
