July 20 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's economy is expected to expand by 4% this year, repeating its last year's performance, prime minister Isa Mustafa said.
The uptrend in foreign direct investments (FDI) too is persisting in the first half of the year, the prime minister said, as quoted on Tuesday on the government's website. In 2015 FDI in Kosovo doubled to 324 million euro, he added.
In the first quarter of the year Kosovo's GDP expanded by a real 3.8%, after posting 4% growth in the last quarter of 2015, preliminary official statistics has shown. The slowdown was caused mainly by decelerating growth in construction - to an annual 8.2% in the first quarter, from 25.6% in the last quarter of 2015. Calculated in current prices, Kosovo's first-quarter GDP totalled 1.2 billion euro ($1.3 billion).
