PRISTINA (Kosovo), July 10 (SeeNews) – Kosovo's railway infrastructure operator INFRAKOS is seeking a consultant to assist the project implementation of Fushe Kosove – Macedonian border rail section, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development said.
EBRD has provided a 36 million euro ($42.3 million) loan to finance the urgent rehabilitation and upgrading of the southern section (Fushe Kosove – Macedonian border) of rail route 10 in Kosovo (Kosovo-Serbia border to Kosovo-Macedonia border), the bank said in a statement late on Monday.
The consultant will be required to provide assistance on project implementation, tender process, management and administration of the works as well as report to EBRD as required under the relevant financing documents and assist INFRAKOS in preparing relevant reports.
The assignment, with an estimated cost of 450,000-600,000 euro, is expected to start in the third quarter of 2018 and has an estimated overall duration of 48 months.
The Kosovo rail route 10 project running southwards to Macedonia and northwards to Serbia is part of the Western Balkans core railway network, an extension of the Trans-European Transport Networks, which is part of the EU’s wider efforts to promote transport connectivity in the Western Balkans.
