October 12 (SeeNews) - Foreign remittances to Kosovo totalled 420 million euro ($462 million) in the January-July period, recording a 40 million euro increase on an annal basis, central bank data show.
In July alone, foreign remittances increased to 60 million euro from 58.3 million euro in the same period last year, according to the bank's release on Tuesday.
As for 2016, inflows from expats toatalled 691 million euro, compared with 665.5 million euro a year earlier.
According to the most recent census, Kosovo had a population of 1.77 million in 2015. More than 700,000 Kosovars lived abroad in 2014, some 35% of them residing in Germany, according to official data.
