May 31 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's government plans 152 million euro ($162 million) investments in digitalisation in the next seven years, targeting nationwide 5G coverage, cloud adoption by 80% of companies, and online availability of key public services under its Digital Agenda 2030 strategy, the economy ministry said on Wednesday.
Of the total, 98.8 million euro will be sourced from the budget and the remainder will be covered by international lenders, according to information published on the ministry's website.
The strategy, which has been put up for public discussion, envisages also the creation of an internet country code for Kosovo.
The code. xk was assigned as a temporary internet code for Kosovo in the frame of UN’s Security Council Resolution on Kosovo in 1999, but local websites often use Serbian .rs code or Albanian .al.
The government is inviting public comments on the strategy until June 19.
