May 20 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's tariffs imposed on imports from Serbia and Bosnia are damaging the business climate in the entire region of Southeastern Europe (SEE) and need to be revoked as soon as possible, a representative of Vienna-based Southeast Europe Business Development Network (SEEBDN) said.
"Kosovo's import tariffs cause problems not only within SEE, but also in markets with which the countries in the region are interested in cooperating, as 73% of their trade is with the European Union (EU)," SEEDBN board member Ivan Gros said in a video file posted on the website of news agency Tanjug on Sunday.
Foreign investors in SEE are worried about the lack of stability in the region, Gros added.
Serbia. In November, the government in Pristina increased import tariffs on all goods produced in Serbia and Bosnia to 100% from 10% set earlier that month, saying the move aimed to protect Kosovo’s sovereignty and interests.
SEEBDN is an independent business association of managers, entrepreneurs and diplomats from the countries of SEE, Germany and Austria. The business network aims to promote regional cooperation between companies in SEE as well as EU markets, and to intensify economic growth, supporting the EU integration of countries from the region.
