PRISTINA (Kosovo), March 11 (SeeNews) – Kosovo’s government said it approved the 2020 draft budget envisaging a deficit equivalent to 2.0% of the planned gross domestic product (GDP).
The draft budget is built on projections for GDP growth of 4.2% in 2020, the government said in a press release on Tuesday.
Revenues are set at 2.2 billion euro ($2.5 billion), whereas expenditures are planned at 2.36 billion euro. Inflation is expected at 1.3% in 2020.
In comparison, Kosovo targeted economic expansion of 4.7% in 2019 and budget deficit of 2.0% of GDP.
No information was provided by the government on the start of discussion and approval of the draft budget in parliament.
Kosovo's new cabinet of Prime Minister Albin Kurti was only formed last month after the winner of the October 6 snap election, left-wing Self-Determination Movement (VV) led by Kurti, and second-ranked centre-right Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) successfully concluded talks on making a coalition government.
