September 1 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector increased to 66.3 million euro ($78.2 million) in the seven months through July, from 44.7 million euro in the same period of last year, the country's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks expanded by 12% year-on-year to 3.5 billion euro at the end of July, the central bank said in a monthly report on Tuesday.
Deposits grew by 14.5% on the year, reaching 4.5 billion euro at the end of July.
The Kosovo banking system had total assets of 5.6 billion euro at the end of July, up from 4.9 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets rose to 2.4% in July 2021 from 1.8% in July 2020 and return on equity increased to 20.4% from 15.9%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 11 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
