August 30 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector increased to 55.8 million euro ($65.8 million) in the first half of 2021, from 39.6 million euro in the same period of last year, the country's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks expanded by 12.2% year-on-year to 3.5 billion euro at the end of June, the central bank said in a monthly report.
Deposits grew by 14.7% on the year, reaching 4.5 billion euro at the end of June.
The Kosovo banking system had total assets of 5.6 billion euro at the end of June, up from 4.85 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets rose to 2.4% in June 2021 from 1.9% in June 2020 and return on equity increased to 20% from 16.6%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 11 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
