June 8 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector increased to 44.6 million euro ($47.9 million) in the first four months of 2022, from 35 million euro in the same period of last year, the country's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks expanded 17.9% year-on-year to nearly 4 billion euro as at the end of April, the central bank said in a monthly report last week.
Deposits grew by 8.5% on the year, reaching 4.8 billion euro at the end of April.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets totalled 5.9 billion euro at the end of April, compared with 5.4 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets increased to 2.6% from 2.3% and return on equity rose to 22% from 19.5%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 11 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
