May 13 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector increased to 30.7 million euro ($31.9 million) in the first quarter of 2022, from 25.6 million euro in the same period of last year, the country's central bank said on Friday.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks expanded 18.4% year-on-year to 3.9 billion euro at the end of March, the central bank said in a monthly report.
Deposits grew by 7.3% on the year, reaching 4.75 billion euro at the end of March.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets came in at 5.8 billion euro at the end of March, compared with 5.4 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets increased to 2.4% from 2.2% and return on equity rose to 20.3% from 19.2%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 11 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
