May 31 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banks rose to 53.5 million euro ($57.1 million) in April, from 44.6 million euro in the same month of 2022, the country's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks totaled 4.56 billion euro at the end of April, up 14% year-on-year, the central bank said in a monthly report on Tuesday.
Deposits increased by 17% on the year in April, reaching 5.57 billion euro.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 6.7 billion euro as at the end of April, from 5.9 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) remained 2.6%. Return on equity fell to 21.1% from 22%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 12 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
