February 3 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector increased to 140.3 million euro ($153.4 million) last year, from 117.5 million euro in 2021, the country's central bank said on Friday.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks totalled 4.35 billion euro at the end of December, up 16.1% year-on-year, the central bank said in a monthly report.
Deposits increased by 13.3% on the year, reaching 5.55 billion euro at the end of December.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 6.76 billion euro as at the end of December, from 5.96 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) rose to 2.5%, from 2.3%. Return on equity also increased, to 20.6% from 19.5%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 11 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
