PRISTINA (Kosovo), August 6 (SeeNews) – The combined net profit of Kosovo's banks decreased to 40.5 million euro ($46.8 million) in the first half of 2018, from 45.6 million euro in the same period a year earlier, Kosovo's central bank said on Monday.
The banking sector's outstanding loan portfolio expanded 11.3% year-on-year to 2.66 billion euro at the end of June, the central bank said in a monthly report.
Deposits in Kosovo's banks increased by 6.9% on the year to 3.1 billion euro at the end of June.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 3.89 billion euro as of the end of June from 3.67 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) decreased to 2.3%, from 2.6% a year earlier. Return on equity also fell - to 18.4% from 21.9%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 10 Kosovo banks. The largest by assets among them are Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank.
