PRISTINA (Kosovo), September 11 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector decreased to 47.7 million euro ($55.2 million) in the first seven months of 2018, from 54 million euro in the like period of last year, Kosovo's central bank said on Tuesday.
The banking sector's outstanding loan portfolio expanded 11.4% year-on-year to 2.67 billion euro at the end of July, the central bank said in a monthly report.
Deposits in Kosovo's banks increased by 5.6% on the year to 3.13 billion euro at the end of July.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 3.95 billion euro as of the end of July from 3.73 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) decreased to 2.1%, from 2.7% a year earlier. Return on equity also fell - to 16.9% from 22.1%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 10 Kosovo banks. The largest by assets among them are Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank.
