PRISTINA (Kosovo), February 7 (SeeNews) – The combined net profit of Kosovo's banks edged up to 87.0 million euro ($99.0 million) at the end of December, from 85.3 million euro a year earlier, central bank data showed on Thursday.
The banking sector's outstanding loan portfolio expanded 10.9% year-on-year to 2.76 billion euro in 2018, according to figures published on the central bank's website.
Deposits in Kosovo's banks increased by 8.7% on the year to 3.36 billion euro at the end of December.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 4.18 billion euro at the end of 2018, from 3.88 billion euro in 2017.
Return on assets (ROA) fell to 2.5% at the end of December, from 2.6% a year earlier. Return on equity also decreased - to 20.2% from 21.3%.
The figures comprise the financial results of ten Kosovo banks. The largest by assets among them are Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank.
