PRISTINA (Kosovo), September 29 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector fell to 51.4 million euro ($60 million) in the first eight months of 2020, from 58.5 million euro in the same period of last year, the country's central bank said on Tuesday.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks totalled 3.15 billion euro at the end of August, up 7% year-on-year, the central bank said in a monthly report.
Deposits grew to 4 billion euro at the end of August, up by 11% year-on-year.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets amounted to 4.96 billion euro at the end of August, higher than 4.46 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) fell to 1.8%, from 2.1% at the end of August 2019. Return on equity also dropped, to 15.9% from 17.5%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 10 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
