June 9 (SeeNews) - Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic has discussed potential investments by Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering and Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering in the country's military industry, the presidency said on Friday.
During an official visit to Kazakhstan, Vucic inspected the Arlan 4x4 multi-role armoured wheeled vehicle of Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering and the optics solutions of Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering, the presidency said in a statement.
In February, Serbia's agriculture ministry said Belgrade is considering the incorporation of a joint investment fund with Kazakhstan to improve trade relations between the two countries. The objective of the project will be to increase the investments in both countries and to boost the trade between them, agriculture minister Branislav Nedimovic said back then.
Serbia maintains close political ties with Russia and China and refuses to join the Western economic sanctions against Moscow. The country is holding EU accession talks but unlike other Western Balkan states it does not aspire to join NATO.
