February 8 (SeeNews) - Kaufland Romania, a unit of German retailer Kaufland, said it has opened a new store in Bacau, taking the number of its stores in the country to 121.
The new store - Kaufland's third in Bacau, employs 75 people and will contribute to the development of the local community, Kaufland Romania said in a press release on Thursday.
The store has a sales area of 2,600 sq m and a car park with 200 parking slots and bicycle racks.
"We will continue to expand throughout the country," Kaufland Romania corporate communications and affairs director, Valer Hancas, said.
Kaufland said last year it would invest 200 million euro ($227 million) in 10 new stores and upgrades of existing ones in Romania.
Kaufland is present in Romania since 2005. In Europe, Kaufland operates a network of over 1,250 stores in seven countries.
