May 5 (SeeNews) - Kaufland Bulgaria said on Friday that it started building its seventh rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) installation and expects to put it in operation in the middle of June.
The PV array is being installed on the retailer's hypermarket in Gorublyane, on the outskirts of Sofia, which is entirely powered by renewable energy, Kaufland Bulgaria said.

The facility will produce 190,000 kWh per year and will save around 15% of consumed electricity, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 100,000 tonnes.
By the end of 2023, Kaufland Bulgaria will install two more solar installations, under previously announced energy efficiency and sustainability targets.
In March, the retailer, part of German retail chain Kaufland, commissioned two rooftop PV systems with 420 kWp in combined capacity.
