March 8 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian unit of Danish bedding and furniture retailer JYSK said that it will launch two new local stores on March 9, bringing to 50 the total number of its retail outlets in the country.
The stores will be opened in the town of Razlog, near the ski resort of Bansko in southwestern Bulgaria, and in the country's second-largest city of Plovdiv, Jysk Bulgaria said in a statement last week.
The Plovdiv location will be the fifth retail outlet for the furniture and homewares retailer in that city.
Jysk plans to continue its Bulgarian expansion by opening at least five new stores per year, the company added.
In 2022, Jysk Bulgaria recorded over 210,000 clients at its stores in Plovdiv, it also said.
JYSK, which entered the Bulgarian market in 2005, has a local workforce of over 700.
In November, the company posted its strongest-ever results in Bulgaria, with earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) soaring 141% to 18.6 million levs ($10 million/9.5 million euro) in its 2021/2022 fiscal year.
