May 26 (SeeNews) - JYSK Bulgaria, a subsidiary of Danish bedding and furniture retailer JYSK, said on Friday that it plans to open at least six new stores in Bulgaria and renovate five more of its existing ones by the end of its next fiscal year, or end-August, 2024.
This summer, JYSK Bulgaria will renovate four of its older stores and transform them into its new concept, Store 3.0, as part of a plan to upgrade all stores opened locally before 2018, the company said in a statement. The first such store in the country will open on June 1 in the southern city of Pazardzhik.
In addition to its retail expansion, the company launched earlier this month a business-to-business (B2B) department for its corporate clients in Bulgaria. The department will facilitate purchases for organisations requiring larger volumes of items or specialised advice, the company said.
JYSK also entered the Turkish market in early May by opening its first stores in two shopping centres in Istanbul. This brings JYSK's network to 48 countries.
In March, JYSK Bulgaria launched two new local stores - in the town of Razlog and the city of Plovdiv.
The Danish company, which started operations in Bulgaria in 2005, now has 51 local retail outlets, including its e-commerce store, and employs over 700 staff.
