November 7 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian unit of Danish bedding and furniture retailer JYSK opened a new logistics zone, following investment of 12 million euro ($11.99 million) in the expansion of its distribution centre near Sofia, the company said.
The new 14,170 sq m logistics zone, which has 33 loading ramps, became operational last week, JYSK Bulgaria said in a press release on Friday.
With the new zone, the logistics centre increased its capacity by 30%. The JYSK Distribution Bozhurishte centre now has a total built up area of 106,000 sq m and a capacity of 148 ramps and 122,416 pallets. The new warehouse will be used for storage, packaging, preparation and shipment of goods from the JYSK product range.
JYSK Bulgaria said it plans to open at least five new stores by the end of 2022 and to modernise at least seven of its older stores.
JYSK, which entered the Bulgarian market in 2005, currently operates 47 stores in the country, including an online shop. The latest store was opened in the town of Kardzhali on August 25, 2022.
