July 21 (SeeNews) - Medical equipment manufacturing company Nipro Corporation Japan said it is investing 100 million kuna ($13.6 million/13.3 million euro) in a new glass packaging plant for the pharmaceutical industry in Croatia.
On Wednesday, a new factory that will produce glass ampoules and vials to package life-saving drugs was inaugurated in Zagreb's suburb Sesvete, Nipro's division Nipro PharmaPackaging said on its website.
Nipro operates another glass pharmaceutical packaging factory in Sesvete, former Piramida, which it bought for an undisclosed sum last year from southeast Europe-focused private equity fund Blue Sea Capital Blue Sea Capital.
The new plant is expected to start production by the end of the year and to create 50 jobs, Croatian state-owned TV broadcaster HRT reported.
