May 26 (SeeNews) - Italian ammunition manufacturer Italsystems has expressed interest in opening a production plant in Montenegro - a project worth an estimated 3 million euro ($3.2 million), the Montenegrin government said.
The plant will be focused on producing ammunition for export to the US and other NATO countries, the government said in a press release on Thursday, following a meeting with visiting Italsystem representatives.
Communication between the two parties will be intensified in the coming days to discuss the details of the potential investment and the opportunities for its realisation.
Rome-headquartered Italsystem is focused on improving services in the ammunition production sector. It has about 75 employees and 10 engineers providing consulting services and high-profile projects, according to the press release. The company operates in more than ten countries worldwide.
